How Informed Insured makes money
Short version: a $47 kit we make ourselves, and paid links to a few tools on some guides. No insurance sales, no quotes, no referral fees from anyone in the insurance or claims business.
What we don’t do
Informed Insured is an insurance education site. We don’t sell insurance, give quotes, or recommend specific insurers or policies. We don’t take referral fees from insurers, agents, brokers, public adjusters, contractors, or claim-help companies.
Where the money comes from
- The Claim-ready kit ($47). Printable checklists and worksheets that we make and sell ourselves.
- Paid (affiliate) links on some guides. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission. Your price stays the same.
Amazon: As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
How paid links work here
- They appear only in boxes labeled “Helpful tools · Paid links,” and each box has its own disclosure line.
- They point to tools related to preventing or documenting a loss — never to insurance policies — and they never sit next to advice about choosing coverage.
- We link to product categories. We don’t test, rank, or review individual products, and no company pays for placement.
- Commission rates don’t decide what we mention, and we name free options (like a phone scanner app or knowing where your water shutoff is) when they exist.
- When we say a device might qualify for an insurance discount, that’s general information. Discounts vary by insurer, state, and device, and they’re never guaranteed. Ask your insurer.
